Kraftbomb January 2009 - applications are open!

We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the January 2009 Kraftbomb!

Kraftbomb will be back in January and hopefully we'll all be feeling rested up and refreshed after the Christmas break.

for the January application form!

Applications will close Monday 12th January 2009

To be fair to those that do apply during this time, we cannot accept any applications after this date and hope you all understand.

We receive so many applications for Kraftbomb and do our best to give everyone a chance to sell and to fit as many people in as possible. Please, please do not be offended or take it personally if you don't get a spot. We simply cannot fit everyone in each time and we find it extremely hard to go through the applications and pick out the successful applicants. We do read through every application, visit each blog and view your photos. We also try to pick vendors who are making products that fit into Kraftbombs quirky style of crafts and will compliment exisiting vendors products.

We look forward to all your applications and seeing everyone at the January Kraftbomb.

Enjoy the summer sun and keep it krafty!

Thankyou!!!!

Firstly we would like to say a very big thankyou to all the people who have been vendors at Kraftbomb and all the shoppers that have kept Kraftbomb going, we really couldn't have done it without all of you!
The last 5 months have been very hard, stressful and rewarding all at the same time and we are so happy that Kraftbomb has been received well!!

We will be taking a short and much needed break between xmas and new years so we won't be answering any emails in that time however be assured that we will get to them after the break.

And lastly we would like to wish everyone a very merry xmas and a safe and happy new years!!

December Kraftbomb - applications now open!

We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the special December Christmas Kraftbomb!

We've broken our tradition of having our event on the last Sunday of the month so we can squeeze in one final Kraftbomb on Sunday 21st December, just before Christmas so everyone can get some last minute Christmas shopping in :-)

for the December application form!

Applications will close Monday 8th December

Due to the tight schedule with Kraftbomb being a week earlier we cannot accept any applications after this date.

For December the Grey Lynn Community Centre has kindly let us have both the main hall and the garden room (the original location for the first 2) so we can fit some extra vendors in and have plenty of room for our loyal Kraftbomb shoppers!

We are getting an overwhelming response to Kraftbomb and doing our best to give everyone a chance to sell and to fit as many people in as possible.

We look forward to all your applications and seeing everyone at the big Christmas Kraftbomb :-)

Our Best Intentions

Our intentions for Kraftbomb were to create a happy, sharing and fun craft experience for everyone involved where people can buy quirky, different and quality handmade crafts! (please don't be offended if you don't fit into this category) We have received a few upset emails from people who we haven't been able to fit in, if you are one of these people please don't send us shitty emails, it is not personal, we are doing our very best. I don't know if anyone comprehends how hard we work trying to organise Kraftbomb. We receive soooooo many applications and we only have limited space and basically have to turn away half of the applicants, not something we like to do. And just because you apply does not mean you automatically are guaranteed a table. We hate having to be the mean guys....We aren't bad people, we aren't disloyal and we aren't cruel, we are just trying to run this like a business. We don't make any money from this aside from what we make selling our crafts on the day, all money goes to paying for the venue and advertising.

We hope you understand
Peace, Love and light

Fred's lemondade success!!!

I think everyone knows that Karla and I are big fans of 6yr old Fred who sells his yummy lemonade at Kraftbomb. If you haven't met him yet and tasted his amazing fizzy lemonade, you are missing out!!

Fred's been selling his lemonade at Kraftbomb to raise money to buy a skateboard, which we think is a pretty awesome goal to have! We just got an email from his Mum Karen (who has her own rad stall Luxford St) to let us know the good news:

Hey guys
Cause you guys have been so fabulously supportive of Fred's lemonade stand, thought you might like to see that Fred has purchased the long hankered for Skateboard along with safety pads. It's a Powell golden dragon and he has been practising and watching the accompanying DVD religously since yesterday.
He said to me that it was the best day of his life when he bought it!!
He is now saving (next kraftbomb) up for a skate helmet, as he is currently wearing his bike helmet, and some skate shoes!
So thanks guys we couldn't have done it without your support! We love kraftbomb!

And here are some pics of Fred on the new board! Congrats Fred and good luck at the November Kraftbomb raising money for your helmet and shoes!!

Make sure you try his lemondade, its GOOOOOOD!

November application reminder

Just a reminder, applications for the November Kraftbomb will close on Friday 7th November!

Due to overwhelmimg response to Kraftbomb, we've had to start using an application form process to make it easier for everyone. We've also had to put a cut off date in place for applications so we can have a better chance at getting everyone in and giving new people a chance to join in the fun.

Kraftbomb October has been and gone!

A big thank you to all who came along to our 3rd Kraftbomb event. This one was our first time in the bigger hall with more vendors and a whole lot more space for everyone. We did have a few teething problems on the day involving last minute shuffling of tables, fire exit issues, sickness and rain!! But we thank you for being patient and understanding. We are always striving to make Kraftbomb an enjoyable event for everyone involved and do our best to accommodate everyones needs.

Even though it was raining off and on we were stoked with how many people braved the weather to come along. Due to being in the bigger hall we had some new vendors and it was great to have new faces! Coffee on sale was a big bonus on a wet day and Fred the Lemonade Boy was back!

The legend Chris Knox very kindly played for us and I think I can safely say everyone loved his set! Warming up the crowd before him was the very talented Edward Waka who was a hit.

So head on over to City's Flick page to check out more Kraftbomb photos

For those of you wanting to apply for the November one, please apply ASAP! We are being inundated with applications already, so please head to our form and apply. Due to demand we now have a closing date for applications on 7th November which is something we haven't done before.

Thanks to vendors, visitors, the lovely Toggle ladies and all the behind the scenes helpers who make Kraftbomb so much fun! We'll see you all next month, Sunday 30th November

Plus we have musical treats with our special guest Chris Knox, plus Edward Waka!

Please note the new time! Kraftbomb will now be running from 11am to 2pm!

Kraftbomb goes Craft2.0

City and I went down to Wellington with our husbands Alex and Chris to be part of Craft2.0, here's a few pics of our trip...

At first Alex was excited...then he was nonchalant...

Inside Craft2.0..

Then Wellington gave Alex and I hives..warning these photos contain graphic images!! (my hive at the bottom looks like The Eye of Sauron!)

We saw some cool graffiti, this was my favourite..

After a few days we jumped on a plane and flew home, stay tuned for episode 2 of "Kraftbomb goes Craft2.0"

ready for round 2?

No sooner have we all started recovering from the very first Kraftbomb, its time to prepare for the next one.

The second Kraftbomb will be held on Sunday 28th September, at the Grey Lynn Community Centre from 1-4pm.

This event will still be in the Garden room, but please note that from October onwards, Kraftbomb's new home will be in the much larger main hall at the Grey Lynn Community Centre. We've outgrown our little room already but unfortuntely we can't have the larger room for another month. So please bare with us, we know the smaller venue isn't ideal but it is only for one more Kraftbomb.

We are planning a super fantastic Kraftbomb for October to celebrate our new venue!

Karla and City xo

thanks Marc Moore

Esther from Toggle tipped me off the other day that the latest issue of Viva (Wed 3 Sept) had a Q&A with Marc Moore who is the co-founder of Stolen Girlfriends Club.

A huge thank you to Marc for mentioning Kraftbomb amongst his favourite places to shop! I think you've got some cupcakes heading your way dude.

Kraftbomb rocked!

The very first Kraftbomb has been and gone, phew! What a busy day!

Can we just say a HUGE thank you to everyone who made it out on Sunday to support the show and see what amazing things all our vendors were selling! We had a fantastic day, the sun was out, there were families hanging out in the playground enjoying the sunshine and the wee Garden Room at the Grey Lynn Community Centre was packed!

the Kraftbomb crowds

Although it was a tight squeeze in the room at times, we just want everyone to know that we will be moving to a larger space to accommodate all our visitors as well as more vendors. The next Kraftbomb in September will still be in the Garden Room, but from October onwards, we move into the huge hall next door!

Thanks also to the lovely Anna Kaye who provided the beautiful background music and Sarah Marlow who joined her during the day to perform.

Anna and Sarah providing the music

Congratulations to our raffle winner Sofie. She won a gift basket FULL of crafty goodies donated by our vendors. Proceeds from the raffle are going towards paying for extra advertising for the next Kraftbomb, so thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket! Here is Esther from Toggle making the big prize draw!
